Who We Help
Solving North Carolina's Unaffordable Homeownership Crisis
MRD Integrity Ventures Corp is a catalyst for housing reform and change. As a small real estate redevelopment firm located here in Winston-Salem, we are progressing towards being designated as North Carolina’s leading provider of affordable homeownership options for low income disadvantaged families.
Challenging the prevailing political myth of an “Affordable Housing Crisis” that plagues our country and deprives individuals and families of shelter, we seek to close the gap in inequality and help families attain residential stability through truly affordable homeownership initiatives. Our emphasis is to enhance the quality of life for those who live well below the poverty line or who are permanently priced out of the real estate market.
We create a holistic experience through homeownership that transforms the lives of every life in our urban communities. We are not talking about affordable rentals that deserving families will never own. This is about starting an era of affordable housing that many families were denied an opportunity to possess instead of continuing the current era that has suppressed any chance for the future heirs of those families to even begin building generational wealth.
North Carolina's Workforce
A recent report by Harvard’s Joint Center for Housing Studies found that more than 25% of tenant households spent over 50% of their income on rent. This is true for much of North Carolina’s workforce.
While gainfully employed, service staff and public servants may earn well below the city’s median income and find it increasingly difficult to maintain a household.
Our goal is to partner with teachers and educators, janitors, hospitality staff, and other front line workforce members to provide affordable modern homes in safe, accessible parts of North Carolina and its suburbs.
We are here to help these families live where they work while improving access to supportive services.
Child Poverty Rates In Winston-Salem
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C.– A new report by the Triad Business Journal shows one-third of the children in Winston-Salem live in poverty. Not only that, but…
Winston-Salem ranks 20th in the nation for the highest child poverty rates.
Winston-Salem has higher percentages than places like Chicago, Pittsburgh, and Dallas.
The report ranks Fayetteville at 39, Greensboro at 50, Charlotte at 88, and Raleigh at 91.
Children who are homeless or housed in transient situations are more likely to suffer from physical and mental health issues or require special education for academic difficulties. Dedicated to the health and wellbeing of North Carolina’s families, MRD Integrity Ventures Corp. is moving towards building safe, quality, and affordable housing for parents and young children who could not otherwise afford a Home to call their own.
